The Big Snowstorm!!

We couldn't believe how much snow we got today- it ended up being about 12 inches! We had to wait a little while for the wind to die down before we could go out and play in it, but once we did we all had a blast!! We made snow angels, snowballs, snow forts and tried to make our snow family but it was so soft and powdery that we had a hard time. Abby went sledding and had the hills all to herself!! We can't wait for the next big snowfall!!

Making Christmas cookies

We had a fun time decorating our sugar cookies this year. Adrianna tried to eat more of the toppings than she put on the cookies, but in the end they all turned out beautifully!! Abigail and Adrianna picked some out to give to their favorite teachers at school and we ate the rest!!

The Lion King Broadway Show

Last night we went to The Lion KIng show in Norfolk!! It was such a great show and the girls had so much fun- Adrianna sat through the entire show and they did great, even though we didn't get home until 11:30. We couldn't take photos inside the theater, but believe us- it was fabulous!!

The Principal's List!!!

We are so proud of Abigail!! She made the Principal's list for her first nine weeks in 1st Grade! They had a nice ceremony at school and she got a free kid's meal at Applebee's for all of her hard work!!

Happy Birthday Quintin!!

Today we celebrated Quintin's 32nd Birthday. The girls had a great time putting ALL the candles on the cake--and of course he blew them out with just one puff! We love you honey!!

My ship's Christmas party

Thursday night we went to my ship's Christmas party. At first I didn't feel like going because a winter storm had blown through earlier that morning and my usual 45 minute commute home turned into 4 1/2 hours!!! It was horrible, and I wasn't in the mood to go when I got home, but Quintin and the girls convinced me and we are glad we went. It was fun to get dressed up- Quintin looked handsome as usual!! They had onsite baby sitting at the hotel, so the girls were able to play upstairs, close by. The food was good, the dessert even better and we even won something. I had to compete in a scavenger hunt/musical chairs game up against the Captain, Executive Officer, Command Master Chief, Chief Engineer, Training Officer, and Electrical Divo and I beat them all to win a gift card! Some of the things I had to get from the audience were a dinner napkin, sugar packets, any denomination of money, a man's tie, and a woman's shoe (couldn't use my own). Quintin broke a world record taking off his tie to help me! It was really fun- CMC and I were the final two people and we had to run to the bathroom to get paper towels and come back and I beat him by a good 5 seconds! The heels had to come off for that one.

Quintin and I were glad they had a photographer there to take pictures- we haven't done photos like that since he was in the Navy! It was a wonderful evening!!

Deck the Halls

Our Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year! Abigail was a Midnight Maiden and Adrianna was Cinderella. Adri wasn't too sure about Halloween but she agreed to wear her Cinderella dress. When we set out to go trick or treating we didn't even make it to the corner before she said she wanted to go home, so she and I stayed home and handed out candy, painted nails, and waited for Abby and Daddy to get home.
