Family Fun Day

Last weekend we had a neighborhood block party where Abigail had tons of fun. She played in bouncers, played some carnival games, and even had her face painted. She wanted a lion and it turned out beautiful. You can also see in the picture of her going down the slide that her hair was straightened. She rarely has that done because it takes a long time and I don't want to damage her hair by blowdrying, but it looked gorgeous!

Watch out Rocky Balboa Adrianna does 20 push ups a day and she is only 8 months old.



Adrianna enjoys story time everynight with Abby but she doesn't enjoy getting her nose wiped as evident from the last photo.

Adrianna is 8 months old

Today Adrianna turned the big 0-8 as in 8 months old. She started crawling a couple of weeks ago and in moving nonstop now. It is funny because she gets into everything and her favorite things to do are to try to get the wires for the surround sound system and then take breaks to do push ups, as you can see in the pictures.

She is also about to get her first tooth. She has been kind of fussy the last few days, but you couldn't tell from the pictures!

Endless pool

Yesterday Quintin took the girls to our friends house to play in her pool. She has an endless pool which is kind of like swimming on a tread mill. Abigail got a chance to play with one of her favorite former tennis girls Anna who is now an Ensign in the Navy.

Water Day.....

Today our neighborhood had a water day block party. It was pretty fun because they had three huge water slide bouncers that all the kids really enjoyed especially Abby.

Only two more days until we get to see Janice.........yeah!

Sleepy Head........

Out to sea......

Today Janice left for her two week journey with the midshipmen. She is taking six ships up the coast to New York and then taking all the ship to the Norfolk area. If you look at the picture closely you can see Janice's ship which is the last one in the train. She will be separated from the girls for seven days but we will see her in Norfolk on Sunday. Then she will be back in Annapolis on the 15th. So until then it is pizza for breakfast for Abby and I. :)

7 month old.......

Today Adrianna is 7 months old.

Little crawler

Adrianna is starting to crawl around the house and it is funny to see her moving. She only crawls around going backwards and spins around on her stomach to change directions. As you can see from the picture of the girls Adrianna started off on the blanket and backed up to were Abigail was.

Our New House

A couple of weeks ago we went house hunting and purchased a townhouse in Virginia. It is great because it has a Master Suite upstairs and down, is located next to a huge lake and has walking trails throughout the property. It is also located about 9 miles from the Naval Station.

Summer Training

During the summer the new plebes arrive at the Naval Academy and go through training for 6-weeks. Some of that falls to us in seamanship and navigation. We teach them about line handling, how to be a lookout on a ship, and the basics in damage control like firefighting and pipe-patching. Friday I had to take a group up to Baltimore on the YP so they could go to the Damage Control trainer there. It is funny because it only takes about 30 minutes to drive to Baltimore, but it is 4 hours by YP. Quintin and the girls met me on the pier when I got back. You might not be able to see me, but I am waving from the bridge wing.

Little ladybug is six months old!

Adrianna is six months old today! The time has really flown by. She sits up now and can spin around in a full circle when she is on her tummy- pretty soon she will be crawling around. Here she is in her cute little outfit that Lori and Connie got for her.

We're home..........

We made it home safe from Newport this morning. We packed the girls up in the car and headed home this morning at 12 am. Q did all the driving and we made it home in about 6 1/2 hours- not bad for driving through 7 states. We had so much fun and are really glad we decided to go. As you can see from the picture Abigail was passed out on the way home.

On the way to graduation...........

Yesterday we left Annapolis to head up to Rhode Island for graduation. We ended up stopping in NYC for a few hours because it is the half-way point between Annapolis and Rhode Island. Abigail was so excited to see the statue of liberty! We also had a chance to take the girls to the World Trade Center site. The last time Quintin and I were there was shortly after 9/11, so a lot has changed.

While we were in Rhode Island we visited Q's great Aunt Dolores who lives about 20 miles from Newport. We had a great time visiting with her and we went to this cute little restaurant that had the best dessert. She and I both had strawberry shortcake, Q had carrot cake and Abby had some chocolate ice cream. She had a lot of old photos to share and we can't wait to see the rest when we move to Newport in December.
