Final Day as Department Head

Today was Janice's last day as a Department Head on San Antonio. She took one last photo with her department before she departed for her new command.

Abby's First Slumber Party

Abby will be turning 7 next week and decided she wanted to have a slumber party. The night was filled with laughs and giggles, but very little sleep.

Commanding Officer!

Janice has selected early for command and will be the commanding officer of her own ship next fall. It is a tremendous responsibility, but she is ready for it. Janice was one of twelve officer's who selected early for command out of 500 Surface Officer's in the Navy.

We went to the Polynesian Resort for a Polynesian dinner and it was not only delicious, but exciting. They had a fire show that we all enjoyed.

Next stop- to Harry Potter's World at Island of Adventure. Adrianna rode her first real roller coaster here and kept saying, "I want to ride it again!" We even got to try some Butterbeer- a creamy, caramel drink that was super yummy!

Sea World

The first stop on our much needed vacation was Sea World! We drove all night to get to Florida without the girls having a clue about where we were going. They were so surprised and couldn't believe that we had kept the secret so well. The weather was perfect and the girls really enjoyed all of the shows. The trainers don't get in the water with the whales anymore, but they still put on a great performance.

Max- our new puppy

We got a new little puppy on New Year's Day. His name in Max and he is the funniest little thing. He is very motivated by food, and I think it shows because he gained a pound and a half in 2 weeks between his vet visits and is up to a whopping 6 pounds now!! We will have to be sure to switch over to some "light" treats pretty soon! He snores just like all pugs do and his personality is showing more and more each day. He loves to nap in your lap- he likes Quintin's and Abby's the best! Adri loves to give him his treats and even calls him her little brother!!

Quintin goes to Washington

We are so very proud of Quintin!! He was invited to have breakfast with some members of Congress this past week to discuss the importance of Head Start. He was selected because they were looking for former students of Head Start to kind of show "Where are they now?" He is doing so much to support the community through The Children's Center and Early Head Start here in our area, and he truly has a passion for helping families. We were also very thankful that he made it back home and beat the snowstorm that hit there again Wednesday afternoon.

Quintin and the girls surprised me with this beautiful edible bouquet for my birthday. It was delicious!!!

Adrianna is 3!!

Our little princess turned 3 today!! She had a great day- had some fun at Chuck E. Cheese's, shared yummy cupcakes with her friends at school, and then had her own beautiful Princess Tiana cake when she got home. Even though she was starting to get sick with a winter cold, she was all smiles!

The Big Snowstorm!!

We couldn't believe how much snow we got today- it ended up being about 12 inches! We had to wait a little while for the wind to die down before we could go out and play in it, but once we did we all had a blast!! We made snow angels, snowballs, snow forts and tried to make our snow family but it was so soft and powdery that we had a hard time. Abby went sledding and had the hills all to herself!! We can't wait for the next big snowfall!!
