Abigail had her first Kindergarden field trip to Darden Farm. She had a great time with all of her classmates and Adrianna got to hop a ride on Q's back to help chaperone.

Fall Decorations

We aren't that big on Halloween decorations but we found a couple of cute things to decorate the house with. The girls decided where to put everything, and I think they did a great job. Adrianna likes to say hi to the scarecrow and ghost every time we go outside.




The girls wanted to paint their pumpkins before we carve them, so here was the finished product. Abby's is on the left and Adrianna's is on the right.

Backyard Camping

We have been wanting to do a little evening camping in the backyard for a while but the weather hasn't been cooperating. We were finally able to set up our little tent and let the girls play in it. We made smores and told stories in the tent! When the girls get bigger we might try the real thing, but for now this will work just fine!

After a long week

After my first week on the ship, which included a few days out to sea, we decided to take the girls to one of their favorite places- Chuck E. Cheese's. We like to go when they first open in the morning so there aren't as many kids (read germs) there.




This was the super-cute cupcake dog that Quintin and the girls picked out for me. It was yummy! We split it four ways, which meant about a half of a cupcake each and that was just perfect!

Tour of Mommy's new ship

Today we took a tour of my new ship- USS SAN ANTONIO (LPD 17)! The girls had a great time seeing where I am going to be working, sleeping, and eating when I am not at home. Abby said it was much different than the YP's at the Naval Academy- those are the only "ships" she remembers! It is much bigger than those- and any other ship that I have been on. Can't wait to drive it!


I am glad that I am not going to have to fight for parking anymore because I have my own assigned spot that is really close! Isn't the Alamo shaped sign cute?
